   Introduction:

In the annals of mathematical history, there are visionaries who illuminate the path to enlightenment through numbers, and among them stands a luminary figure—Jagadguru Shri Bharathi Krishna Tirthaji. This distinguished scholar, mathematician, and spiritual leader not only deciphered the ancient mathematical wisdom enshrined in the Vedas but also bestowed it upon the world in the form of Vedic Mathematics, a transformative system that continues to captivate minds and empower learners today.

The Life and Legacy of Shri Bharathi Krishna Tirthaji:

Born as Venkatraman on March 14, 1884, in the quaint village of Tumkur, Karnataka, India, he would later ascend to spiritual and mathematical eminence as Shri Bharathi Krishna Tirthaji Maharaja. His early education, steeped in traditional Indian knowledge, prepared the foundation for the profound contributions he would make to both mathematics and spirituality.

It was during a period of deep meditation, spanning eight long years in the forests of Sringeri, that he unearthed the hidden gems of Vedic Mathematics. Drawing upon the wisdom of the Vedas, Upanishads, and ancient Indian scriptures, Shri Bharathi Krishna Tirthaji meticulously deciphered the mathematical sutras (aphorisms) hidden within these sacred texts.

Vedic Maths Tricks:

Vedic Maths Tricks, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division for Classes 6 to 12 is a system of thinking and mathematical functioning based on ancient Indian teachings called Veda, and it is quick, effective, and simple to master. Vedic mathematics, which simplifies mathematical and algebraic operations (and is provided in your NCERT Solutions), has gained popularity all over the world. With your friends, share your questions here. According to experts, it might be a useful tool for people who need to answer mathematical problems more quickly every day. It's crucial to consider how quickly you can solve a problem (the NCERT Exemplar problems offer the same practice). In every competition, there is a race against the clock. The race will only be won by those with quick math skills.

Vedic Maths for Faster Calculations:

Because it has its roots in the Vedas, "vedic mathematics" is given that name. It was derived from the "Atharva Vedas," the fourth Veda, to be more precise. The "Atharva Veda" covers all fields of knowledge that we are currently aware of, including engineering, mathematics, art, and medicine. The root Vid, which means to know without bounds, is where the Sanskrit word "Veda" originates. All known Veda-Sakhas are included under the term "Veda." The Veda is a reservoir of all knowledge that is infinite and ever-revealing as it is studied in greater depth. The theory of numbers, compound multiplications, algebraic operations, factorizations, simple quadratic and higher-order equations, simultaneous quadratic equations, partial fractions, calculus, squaring, cubing, square root, and many other topics are introduced in Vedic Mathematics. These topics are covered in Classes 6, 7, and 8 respectively.

Vedic Mathematics Addition tricks:

1."Vertically and Crosswise" Method:

Step 1: Break down the numbers into segments, aligning them vertically.

Example:

     347

  + 128

  ------

Step 2: Add the digits vertically from right to left (ones place, tens place, hundreds place, etc.). Carry forward any excess to the next place value.

Example:

    347

 + 128

  -----

  475

  -----

2.”Left-to-Right Addition”

Step 1: Start from the leftmost digit and add each digit from left to right.

Example:

   456

+ 123

 ------

Step 2: Add each digit:

Example:

  4 + 1 = 5

  5 + 2 = 7

 6 + 3 = 9

Step 3: The final result is 579.
Vedic Mathematics Subtraction Tricks:

Vedic Mathematics offers several subtraction tricks and techniques that simplify the process of subtracting numbers. These tricks can be especially useful for mental math and quick calculations. Here are some Vedic Mathematics subtraction tricks:Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry.

Vedic Mathematics Subtraction Tricks:

1."Nikhilam Ekadhikena Purvena" Sutra (All but One More than the Previous):

Step 1: Place the larger number on top and the smaller number below it.

Example:

   872

- 549

Step 2: Starting from the rightmost digit, subtract each digit by adding one more to the previous digit.

2 + 1 (previous) = 3

7 + 3 (previous) = 10 (Carry forward 1)

8 + 1 (previous) + 1 (Carried forward) = 10

Step 3: The result is 103.

Vedic Mathematics Multiplication Tricks:

Vedic Mathematics offers a variety of multiplication tricks and techniques that can make the process of multiplying numbers faster and more efficient. These tricks are particularly useful for mental math and can help simplify complex multiplication problems. Here are some Vedic Mathematics multiplication tricks:

Vedic Mathematics Multiplication Tricks:

1.”Vertically and Crosswise Multiplication”
  • Break down the numbers into segments and align them vertically and crosswise.
  • Multiply each segment and add the results.
  • This method is especially useful for multiplying large numbers quickly.

Example:

   72

x 43

 -----

 216 (72 x 3)

 2880 (72 x 40)

 -----

 3096 (Result)

2.”Urdhva-Tiryagbhyam (Vertically and Crosswise) Method”

  • This method extends the vertically and crosswise multiplication technique to simplify        complex multiplications.
  • It breaks down the multiplication into smaller, manageable steps.
  • Apply this method iteratively for each digit of the multiplier
Example:

   1 2

x 34

 -----

48 (2 x 4)

120 (2 x 30)

-----

408 (Result)

Vedic Mathematics Division Tricks:

Vedic Mathematics offers several division tricks and techniques that can simplify the process of division and make it more efficient, especially for mental math and quick calculations. Here are some Vedic Mathematics division tricks:

Vedic Mathematics Division Tricks:

  • This technique is used for long division and simplifies the process of finding the quotient.
  • Divide each digit of the dividend by 9 and the last digit by 10, and write down the results.
  • Carry over any remainders to the next digit.
Example:

 872 Ă· 549

 Quotient: 1 (8 Ă· 9)

 Remainder: 7 (8 % 9)

 7

 -----

549 | 872

7 (7 Ă· 9)

0 (7 % 9)

-----

These Vedic Mathematics division tricks provide shortcuts and methods to simplify division calculations, making them faster and more manageable, especially in mental math situations.
